The Private and Boarding School Organisation Nepal (PABSON) Jhapa, a key voice in the district's private education landscape, has formed seven new subcommittees to enhance organisational efficiency and social outreach. The decision was made during a meeting held earlier today in Birtamod, signalling a strategic shift toward more structured and proactive engagement in education, culture, sports, training, and social responsibility.
Building a Backbone of Expertise
One of the major highlights of the meeting was the formation of an Academic Advisory Committee composed of seasoned educators and administrators. The committee includes Mohan Subba, Gurubhakta Neupane, Ram Sitaula, Amrit Bahadur Budhathoki, Akhil Koirala, Janardan Dhakal, and Hari Adhikari, all of whom bring years of grassroots and institutional experience in academic planning and policy.
Simultaneously, a Cultural Program Sub-Committee was established under the coordination of Harikrishna Pathak. Its members—Yam Dangal, Badiram Rai, Anup Roy, Janardan Mainali, Milan Shrestha, and Samiksha Gautam—will organise municipal and district-level competitive events, aiming to foster cultural identity and student engagement.
Encouraging holistic student development, PABSON Jhapa has also established an ECA (Extra-Curricular Activities) Sub-Committee led by Laxmi Prasad Upreti, with members Teknath Timsina and Dhan Prasad Rajbanshi. Meanwhile, sports will receive a structured push through a dedicated Sports Sub-Committee, coordinated by Amrit Kumar Timsina and supported by a robust team, including Bikram Chhetri, Binod Upreti, Deepak Sangraula, Ganesh Shrestha, Binod Budhathoki, Sitaram Baral, Leelamani Rai, and Kalpana Thapa.
On the professional development front, a Training Subcommittee under the stewardship of Jeevan Shiwakoti will oversee educator capacity building. Its members include Bhawani Prasad Pathak, Surendra Kharel, Uttam Khanal, and Dambru Ruchal.
Administrative responsibilities haven't been overlooked either. A Finance and Accounting Subcommittee, chaired by Bhim Vijay Bastola and comprising Gokul Upreti and Pramila Bajgain, has been tasked with ensuring transparency and financial discipline.
Addressing internal harmony, a Dispute Resolution Subcommittee, led by Binod Subba with support from Tilak Pakhrin, Ram Prasad Suhang, Rudra Sitaula, Bhoj Bahadur Karki, Bishnu Sapkota, and Mohan Thapa, will mediate issues within the organisation and the broader school network.
Existing Structure and New Directions
These newly formed bodies join existing committees, including the Examination Subcommittee, coordinated by Senior Vice President Harikrishna Pathak, and the Information and Communication Subcommittee, headed by Secretary Laxmi Prasad Upreti. All of these fall under the oversight of the nine-member Secretariat, chaired by PABSON Jhapa President Chhatra Bahadur Karki.
In collaboration with the District Traffic Police Office, PABSON Jhapa is currently conducting a municipal-level traffic awareness campaign, underlining its growing commitment to community outreach and student safety.
True to its slogans "Institutional School" and "PABSON, the Disasteorganizationnization is also investing in social welfare by supporting underprivileged students and responding to emergencies.
Infrastructure Expansion on the Horizon
The organisation is poised for physical growth. A plan has been announced to upgrade its existing single-storey headquarters in Birtamod-1. The proposed new structure will be a modern, well-equipped facility, with construction spearheaded by an 11-member Building Construction Subcommittee led by Gauriman Fago, Chief Advisor and Secretary of PABSON Koshi Province. According to officials, the groundwork for the project will begin immediately.
As PABSON Jhapa diversifies its operational wings and scales up, the infrastructure organisation appears set on a transformative journey—both in the classrooms and in the communities it serves. Whether these structural reforms will translate into tangible educational uplift remains to be seen, but the intent is clear: to evolve from an administrative body into a driving force in Jhapa's academic future.
